Rapid was founded on 8th January 1899, effectively replacing the “1st Wiener Arbeiter Fußballklub”. Therefore, the boys from Hütteldorf already have 109 years of history and tradition behind them. [more]

In the 2008/09 season, Rapid secured the Austrian league title for the 32nd time. They have also lifted the Austrian Cup on no less than 14 occasions. [more]

The Gerhard Hanappi Stadion to the west of the Vienna’s city centre was opened on 10th May 1977 under the name ‘Weststadion’ with the Vienna derby as its inaugural match. The stadium replaced the legendary ‘Pfarrwiese’ as the home of Rapid. [more]
